When Resilience is Impaired
Understanding why and how the resilience of systems is impaired can help us discover how they can be revitalized and rendered even more robust.
There is a great body of work on the impairment of resilience associated with many diseases and health challenges. The following are a few prominent examples selected from categories covered by hospitals and other healthcare providers in community needs assessments as required by federal law. Even a brief Internet search will confirm the strong linkage of impaired resilience to these health challenges.
