Resilient Santa Barbara
Big Heart Intelligence and Integral Resilience unlock the Rosetta Stone of Behavioral Health and Wellness. Our mission is to apply these innovations to the most urgent challenges facing our community, delivering measurable positive outcomes that can be rapidly replicated and scaled in other communities.
Integral Resilience Multiplier
Accelerating Community-wide Learning and Effective Action in Behavioral Health—How well prepared is the Santa Barbara community for the physical and psychological trauma of natural and man-made catastrophes–the next fire, landslides, earthquakes, or perhaps a corona virus?Impairment of behavioral health and resilience are closely associated with clinical depression, burnout, substance abuse, addiction, and suicide. Impairment of behavioral health and resilience are closely associated with clinical depression, burnout, substance abuse, addiction, and suicide. These calamities fall most heavily on economically disadvantaged and minority groups.
But there is a promising path forward. Big Heart Intelligence and Integral Resilience are core life competencies and skills that can be rapidly acquired and multiplied throughout communities. We have developed a portfolio of online courses and apps that can measurably improve behavioral health and wellness within our community. Please see the roadmap Santa Barbara as a Resilient City: 10 Steps Toward Sustainable Change. With your sponsorship we can begin offering in-person training programs, especially for those organizations in our community who would greatly value but cannot afford to pay for these programs.
5G/AI/Internet of Things (IoT) Juggernaut
An Imminent Threat to Community Wellbeing and Resilience—The harms—to our community’s physical and mental health, the local environment, Constitutional protections of due process, property, and personal privacy, and Santa Barbara’s financial security– are foreseeable and preventable. The threat is especially dangerous to our children, elderly people, those with special sensitivities (approximately 40,000 people in Santa Barbara County) and chronic diseases, caregivers who are burning out, and our economically disadvantaged and minority communities that have no escape in their homes or workplaces. An effective remedy begins with immediate and widespread education and literacy about this issue, especially as it is complex, most people are uninformed, many in denial, and there is widespread disinformation actively disseminated by the wireless industry and its publicists. Please contribute to the 5G Dojo which offers a unique online and onsite program for Collaborative Learning and Action on this critical challenge to our community’s resilience.
Urgent Actions:
- Secure a 5G Moratorium, so the community has time and space to become informed.
- Adopt a Protective Ordinance
- Establish Santa Barbara’s own public power/renewable energy/communications utility, as adopted by other cities.
Our Goal
To raise an initial $100,000 in the next three months to permit us to launch our Behavioral Health educational initiatives and to secure a 5G Moratorium in Santa Barbara. Please visit Resilience Multiplier and click FUND. You can designate your donations generally for the Resilient Santa Barbara Initiative, or specifically earmarked for either project.
